Standing Tall

So this is the image of our morning each day now. First, we hear a rattle bang against the bed accompanied by some music playing and then an eventual sermon being spoken. (The important chatter consists of a vast combination of various pronouncements to the word da-da). We never knew that there were so many different ways to say this word, but there are... different tones, pitches, emphasis on different syllables or letters, etc. But then, you turn the corner and see two big blue eyes staring back at you with SO much excitement. What a motivation to get out of bed...
As you can also see from the pictures, we now have constant bruises on our forehead from the many falls that we incur due to our insistence on standing tall in all cases... We will attempt to pull up on anything whether it is sturdy or moving, little or large, a hard or soft surface, and any and everything in between. At almost 9 months, we think we are so big...

Christopher's First Father's Day

[Christopher] "This weekend we celebrated Father's Day by going home and visiting all of our family in Alabama. Kimberly and I took Bodie swimming for the first time and it looks like we are going to have a little water bug on our hands. Bodie had no problem burying his face in the water and taking a drink. Bodie got to play with all of his cousins and got to eat loads of food he probably shouldn't have. It truly was a terrific Father's Day. I am so lucky to have a wonderful son and a loving wife."
Bodie also started his new daycare on Monday, called Children's Friend. He was very excited as Christopher & I took him in and began grinning and waving. We walked back to his room and handed over all of the essentials to one of his teachers. Then Christopher handed Bodie to Ms. Priscilla, which he immediately responded with the "Bodie Stare". His face completely read, "I don't know you." Then she walked him over and sat him in a high chair and he immediately knew what was about to happen. He then became EXTREMELY excited because breakfast was coming. We definitely have a good eater on our hands... This is a picture of him and daddy on the first day @ his second school...

My first Swimming Experience....

For Father's Day weekend, Christopher wanted to take Bodie for his first swim... We are planning a beach vacation soon and we wanted to test the waters (pun intended-ha).
So on Saturday, we sat him in the pool for the first time. We immediately felt his little hesitation, but it didn't last long. Soon he realized that it was like a big bath-tub that he could splash in... He then figured out that if he kicked his legs, he could move the float around. He also liked to be held and kick the side of the pool and feel the jets on his feet. Hopefully, this is a sign of a good vacation to come... We also visited with Bodie's Great-Grandmother, "Nanny" which was wonderful. She had a great time holding him and even called him Mini-Chris... You could see that it took her back in time, remembering when Christopher was a little guy... It was a very special visit.

Bodie's last Day of "It's a Bug's World"....

As many of you may have heard, due to the economy, Bodie's daycare was closed. The most interesting part of the story is that they only gave the parents three days notice... Christopher and I found out on Wednesday that their last day was Friday. We immediately went into survival mode and began researching all of the centers that we had looked at about 6 months ago and a few new ones. Luckily, we found a new place that will be awesome for Mr. Bodie. As Christopher and I discussed, it was a blessing in disguise. Even though, he was VERY muched loved at "It's A Bugs World", he was the only baby left and was included in the one year old room. At his new school, he has about 10 other babies and 5 or so that are around his age. We know that he will be loved and cared for and be in a much better environment for his development. So these are pics the morning of his last day at the old daycare. To all of those that cared for him and loved him there, we say "Thank You".

In honor of our Omaha Family...

For a VERY BRIEF time, we are unofficially Arkansas fans... GO HOGS!!
(that was really hard to type).
Since Arkansas is in the College World Series and we have Omaha relatives that are avid fans, we are cheering them on in honor of our family!

We know that they would do the same for us... haha. We dressed Mr. Bodie up on Saturday in his Arkansas outfit from the Omaha Wallers to help cheer on the team against Cal State Fullerton. It seemed to work well since they pulled off a 10-6 victory against the Titans... It didn't, however, bode so well on Monday night with the 9-1 loss to LSU. Bodie wasn't wearing the outfit which was likely the problem... We are washing it now!

We are hoping that they will pull off a victory against Virgina to stay in it! Good Luck Guys...

We love you and miss you! Maybe we can come to see the World Series and visit with you soon! Here's keeping our heads held high for the razorbacks!!!

Welcome back to Atlanta, Ma-maw

We have a visitor at our house for the next couple of weeks while my parent's are out of town. My grandmother (aka "Ma-maw") is staying with us. She has visited us once before, but it has been a really long time since she came to the big city...

We will have to do some gardening, shopping & site-seeing while she is in town. And as you can see, we have one really excited little boy over having a house guest!!

My mother (aka Nana), Hannah, Bodie, Ma-maw, & I met at the Georgia Welcome Center @ the stateline on Sunday. It was so much fun and were able to visit and picnic before stealing ma-maw away. Bodie also immensly enjoyed playing with cousin Hannah (and chewing on her a little too!).

Hannah had just finished her annual dance recital the night before and brought her program to show us. It had a special note from the family and her pictures. Nana said that she did an awesome job, as always. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to attend this year...

We then packed up and drove back to Atlanta to settle in for the week ahead. We are looking forward to an exciting weekend, so stay tuned!

the world of coke...

So this weekend, was our first Atlanta tour... at the World of Coca-Cola. It was so much fun and Bodie had a great time seeing all of the bright red signs and animated objects. He even loved the Polar Bear... We really didn't know how he'd react to his first live character, but he just gave him that total "Bodie Stare". He checked him out and touched his fur and then just looked at us and laughed as though it were a joke. It was so fun to see his reaction. We then continued on the tour and looking through the memorabilia and watching the bottling process. Bodie instead sought out every kid that was in his sightline and watched their every move. We then watched their 4D movie which was intriguing for him as well. The moving seats, bubbles, air and water seemed to keep him in awe. The seat would move around and then he would look up at us and grin. Bodie did decide to take Mommy’s 4D glasses away for his chewing pleasure. This left me without much opportunity to take in the experience, which was fine. It was more fun watching his reactions. Lastly, we strolled through the tasting room where he did sample a couple of the 60 flavors of drinks that they offer from around the world. We had a GREAT visit...
