my first concert • zac brown band

This memorial day weekend, the family enjoyed our first concert together. We went to Chastain Park to see The Zac Brown Band. It was SO much fun and Mr. Bodie was amazing. He loved the lights and music and crowd. He danced and smiled and squealed the entire 4 hours that we were there.
ZBB's first big hit, "A little bit of Chicken Fried" was the only song that Christopher really sang to Bodie when he first arrived and it was VERY special getting to hear it live at his first concert in his daddy's arms. Of course, he won't remember those details, but we sure will.

5 years & counting...

On May 15th, Christopher & I celebrated 5 blissful years together. It was a special accomplishement for us that has honestly flown by (at least for me). Especially considering this September will actually be 13 years in total of being a couple together... I think that I can say for both of us that it definitely hasn't always been easy, but I know that I wouldn't want to be with anyone else. He is truly still my best friend and my husband and now my "baby daddy" too! Even though a monumental year for us, we celebrated humbly by just sharing dinner out together as a family. What an awesome addition we added that we couldn't have even imagined 5 years ago as we stated our vows to one another. Bodie was an angel through dinner especially since he was able to enjoy eating bread for the first time. He thought he was so big... We would also like to give a Happy Birthday shout to our cousin, Sarah, in Omaha would turned the BIG 21 on the 16th of May. We celebrated her 16th birthday at our wedding. AAHHH, the Memories... Go enjoy your first adult beverage... haha!

my first mother's day

Well, it was the first official mother's day for me this past Sunday and what an amazing first to celebrate. I can honestly say that I know that there was something missing inside of me that I never even knew was there until Bodie joined our lives. Like a calling for me to be his mommy, and I wouldn't have selected differently if I could have picked from all of the babies in the entire world. Being his mommy is too special to explain, but I figure that all Moms out there know what I am talking about... (or I certainly hope so)
When we picked up mr. bodie from daycare on Friday, I found the sweetest gift inside of his backpack. Of course, an adorable personalized card with his handprint turned into a tulip. It was adorned also with a sweet poem and picture of him. And even though I know that he had no idea what he was doing that day they smeared yellow paint all over his chubby little fingers (and knowing that he possibly threw a fit in the process); it was still such a special gift to receive from him.
We had a wonderful weekend with our families and it was a lot of fun.

the first addition of a "quick" update...

So we have family members (mother) that truly detest the world of blogging, but we have decided to begin this adventure to try to keep in touch with all of our out-of-state family and friends. We also want to use this is a place to journal and remember the milestones that Bodie accomplishes.
So starting with that, we would like to announce that Bodie performed his first "crawl" or more like an official scoot with movement on Monday night (May 4th). It was awesome. He still doesn't get the total arms and legs moving in synch with one another, but we are getting close. Life will then change as we know it...
Also, we received a few proofs of Mr. Bodie's 6 month photo session. We will post a few for everyone to enjoy. Stay tuned for more...
